Last year, we expanded by opening a second office in Phoenix and are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our expansion and contribute to the growth of our new office with the support of our well-established firm. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of local jurisdictions and municipalities in the Phoenix area and will be responsible for leading architectural multi-family project teams both locally and out of state.
Qualifications
- +8 years of experience in architecture project management
- Strong knowledge of local jurisdictions and municipalities in the Phoenix area.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture required
- Architect license preferred
- Expert ability to navigate and interpret codes, including IRC, IBC, and zoning codes
- Proficient in Revit with a minimum of 3 years on the job experience
- Multi-family experience, minimum 3 years
- Exceptional ability to self-manage and with specific attention to detail, organizational skills, time management and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and team-oriented attitude
Range of Responsibilities

Project Architect

Responsibilities
- Be a key part of Dekker as we step into our next phase of growth and evolution in architectural design
- Lead Client-based teams through all phases of a project’s development
- Work directly with Clients and end Users to develop and refine programming, campus and department planning, and detailed department and room functional planning
- Knowledge of essential metrics for a wide spectrum of projects
- Work with clients to improve their process and flow
- Maintain and build Client-based institutional knowledge
- Mentor and teach staff, and build the overall capacity of the firm’s teams
- Be engaged in continual research, teaching, and dialog on architectural design innovations
- Lead pursuits of new projects, Clients, and Markets
- Engage and participate firm-wide in projects across multiple offices
Qualifications
- This is a hybrid work environment with 3 days onsite required. Applicants must live in the Phoenix, AZ metro area.
- An active US State board licensure required
- 5+ years in architectural planning and design, educational facilities (higher education or K-12) is preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the, US. Sponsorship is not available.
- Expert level proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Revit
- Laboratory design experience is a plus
- Experience working with Arizona higher education institutions is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and consultation skills
- Ability to translate client ideas into visual and/or tangible references such as drawings or models.
- Design-specific credentials are highly valued: LEED or WELL AP is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Architect, with minimum 5 years of Construction Document experience.

- Proficiency in task prioritization and effective management of multiple deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (LT), with the ability to design projects and generate comprehensive construction documents. Experience with Revit and Sketchup a plus.
