The VP of Design and Development will lead the RF Design, Client Satisfaction, Coordination, and Studio teams to deliver exceptional design outcomes and value-added resources to clients. This role will also focus on maximizing revenue opportunities across the Troon organization, ensuring alignment with the business strategies of RealFood Hospitality, Strategy & Design, and Troon as a whole.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively participate as a senior leader within RFHSD to achieve organizational, growth, financial, performance and brand objectives
- Lead the culture of the RFDS and RFHSD in alignment with RFHSD’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the RF Design Studio (RFDS) operations including the Interior Design and Foodservice Design studios to ensure successful growth of the Studio and outstanding project outcomes in support of RealFood Hospitality, Strategy and Design’s (RFHSD) business strategy
- Oversee recruitment, selection and on-boarding of all RFDS leaders and staff
- Establish and oversee strategies and methodologies for RFDS to deliver best-in-class client service and design outcomes in the most efficient manner possible
- Develop and execute strategies for RFDS to optimize the team’s productivity, capabilities and growth in alignment with RFHSD and Troon’s strategic objectives
- Oversee definition of service and quality standards for all RFDS processes and project deliverables to consistently achieve best-in-class project outcomes
- Develop and advance the skills and capabilities of all RFDS team members by actively mentoring, coaching and training to support individual and organizational growth as well as staff advancement, retention and job satisfaction for all RFDS members
- Develop, deploy and oversee systems and processes to ensure the highest quality, consistency, alignment with established standards and best practices across all RFDS outputs and deliverables
- Ensure all RFDS outputs align with applicable codes and requirements within the defined scope of work
- Define and oversee execution of new client assignment and on-boarding process within RFDS to ensure successful project outcomes, optimize productivity of the team and management of RFDS bandwidth
- Actively lead or participate in RFDS projects, as appropriate, to optimize outcomes ensure full implementation, training and team compliance with RFDS Salesforce processes across RFDS
- Oversee and assign RFDS business development responsibilities to support defined RFHSD business development strategy
- Participate in media, industry and Troon events, as appropriate, to elevate reputation and visibility of RFHSD, RFDS and Troon overall
- Actively participate with in RFDS, RFHSD and Troon’s Business Development team, as required, in support of business development strategy
- Collaborate to develop and execute a well-defined go-to-market strategy to optimize revenues, profitability and perceived value for RF Design Studio and RFHDS services overall
- Support identification, selection, implementation and full optimization of software solutions across RFDS to align with organizational objectives
- Establish and oversee execution of strategies to leverage internal and external educational opportunities, industry partners and manufacturer’s resources to ensure RFDS stays at the leading edge of design trends, methodologies and materials
- Complete ongoing talent assessment and structured development coaching for all RFDS team members in alignment with RFHSD/Troon’s defined processes
- Lead and coordinate any RFDS client service recovery efforts, as required
- Develop and oversee achievement of RFDS annual budget
Education & Experience
- Arch, M.Arch (NAAB-accredited)
or
- BA Interior Design, BFA Interior Design (CIDA Accredited)
- Management experience leading an organization of similar size and scale
- Multi-studio leadership experience
- 10 years high-level design experience with deep exposure to commercial hospitality environments
- Established history of highly effective coaching and mentoring of diverse teams
- Experience in project management and administration

Certificates / Licenses
- Architecture: ARE, completion of AEP, and (1) state license
