SUMMARY
Deutsch Architecture group is looking for a Job Captain with five or more years of commercial experience designing sites and buildings, as well as producing project construction documents in Revit. The position is full-time, in office.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Accredited architecture degree preferred, but not required
• Excellent critical thinking, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple deadlines effectively and accurately
• Advanced Revit knowledge with ability to model projects at a detailed level and create construction documents
• Intermediate understanding of industry standards and building codes
• Intermediate understanding of civil, landscape, structural and MEP design
• Positive attitude and ability to form meaningful relationships internally, as well as with clients, contractors, consultants and city officials
• Intermediate knowledge of Adobe suite of software
• AutoCAD knowledge preferred, but not required
• Enscape knowledge preferred, but not required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare conceptual site plans and space plans.
• Investigate, evaluate and recommend design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
• Produce ‘cartoon sets’ for projects.
• Perform initial zoning and code analyses for Project Architect/Manager review.
• Conduct and assist with consultant coordination to achieve minimal rework.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of basic construction.
• Provide technical guidance to and redlines for less experienced design team members.
• Prepare construction drawing documents to office standards within allotted timeframe.
• Research and use standard details that are applicable to project.
• Assist in material selection and specifications.
• Clearly communicate any deficiencies in project documents and situations which may result in schedule delays.
• Thoroughly review drawings for quality and conformance with firm standards prior to any Project Architect/Manager review and prior to quality assurance/quality control review.
• Assist with the construction administration of projects, including preliminary submittal reviews, RFI responses, document revisions and field observations.
• Occasionally assist with clerical tasks, such as scanning and errands, as needed.
• Participate in professional development learning opportunities.
• May manage small projects with close supervision by Project Architect/Manager.
