We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a passion for experimentation, innovation, and problem solving to join our Design Technology community in our beautiful Phoenix office. As a Project Design Technology Lead, your focus will be on leading the adoption, implementation, and advancement of BIM and Computational Design within the project environment. You will be the main point of contact for Design Technology within projects, engaging with team members to rethink how technology impacts our everyday process, and deliver new ways of working.
What You Will Do
- Lead the implementation, management, and execution of BIM/Computational Design on projects throughout all phases of the design process.
- Recognize the degree and complexity of a project and apply the right design technology strategy to optimize project performance, as well as support and integrate a lean project delivery framework.
- Identify workflows, tools, and efficiencies that will bring value-proposition to our projects.
- Develop project-specific BIM execution plans derived from the Gensler standards framework.
- Implement and manage BIM processes and workflows using BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks, ensuring all stakeholders are in alignment with the Project BIM Protocols.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain BIM models using Revit, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
- Coordinate BIM delivery at a project level, managing the production of models and other outputs including drawings.
- Manage and maintain project documentation and data within BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, including model files, drawings, and project information.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate communication and coordination through the use of BIM technology.
- Identify and resolve opportunities around model-management to optimize performance and user-experience.
- Author / Develop solutions to address project needs through the use of various tools, scripting and workflows.
- Facilitate Design Technology training and onboarding at the project level.
- Respond to general design technology support requests at the studio and project level.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with office and studio leaders by improving communication, transparency, and involvement throughout the duration of a project.
- Research and develop on a continuous basis, innovative methods based on extensive experience and an understanding of current trends / techniques related to design technology.
- Highly desirable previous experience with critical facilities projects.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training or prior work experience in the building industry.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a project-specific BIM Management and /or Computational Design support role of all phases of design and delivery.
- Experience leading Design Technology scope in projects.
- Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit Architecture and Digital Integration / Collaboration platforms like BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud Ecosystem.
- Experience in developing and overseeing BIM, Design and Construction Coordination in projects.
- Knowledge of Navisworks and Virtual Design Coordination tools.
- Familiarity with design and visualization applications such as Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, V-Ray, 3DS Max, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, etc.
- Articulate communicator, able to convey design technology concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership.
- Creative thinker dedicated to problem solving, research, and innovation.
