AIAS Representative, AIA Southern Arizona
Francisco Zazueta is an architecture student at The University of Arizona driven by a deep commitment to social impact, mentorship, and environmental stewardship. As the incoming President of AIAS and former NCARB Student Licensing Advisor, he has worked to support emerging professionals by fostering collaboration, expanding access to resources, and building a stronger culture of support within architectural education.
Francisco’s design interests are rooted in the unique ecology and culture of the Sonoran Desert. He draws from vernacular and climate-adaptive strategies to explore how architecture can respond sensitively to place while promoting resilience, equity, and community well-being. Through both leadership and design, Francisco seeks to help shape a more inclusive and responsive future for the profession.
