Crista Mapes, AIA

Crista Mapes, AIA, is a Project Manager and Project Architect at Swaim Associates, Ltd. in Tucson. As a Tucson resident for more than 25 years, she calls the desert home, working locally since earning her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arizona. A Registered Architect in Arizona, Crista is passionate about providing thoughtful customer service, empowering teammates, and fostering connections with clients, contractors, coworkers, and consultants. Her experience working on multiple project types and sizes from start to finish has created adaptability within the field and an understanding for the importance of quality construction documents, both technically and graphically. She is motivated by a thirst for knowledge, attention to detail, organization, a love of construction, and functional designs. Outside of architecture, Crista has come to cherish the desert. She cannot imagine being part of a city where summer rain is not a celebrated event and being surrounding by mountains is not the norm. Crista enjoys exploring the scenery of Arizona through hiking and camping, recently bridging into more adventurous outdoor activities such as canyoneering. She is passionate about working with her hands, enjoying everyday life, and surrounding herself with family and friends.
