Drawn Out: Ideation + Sketch Solutions for Mental Health Environments
AIA Phoenix Metro Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) presents Drawn Out: Ideation + Sketch Solutions for Mental Health Enivronments, on May 15 at the AIA Arizona Office in Phoenix.
How can we as a profession use our collective knowledge and expertise to address the critical issue of mental health? This workshop will be conducted in two parts. Part one will be to listen to personal stories about mental health along with best practices for addressing crisis through design. Part two will be a hands-on sketching session that considers the experience of someone in crisis.
Facilitated by Jordan Kravitz, AIA, Senior Architect at Stantec, attendees will hear from the following speakers:
- Stephen Parker, AIA Senior Associate at Stantec
- Shahad Sadeq Architectural Designer at Buxton, Kubik & Dodd
- Emily Schickner, AIA Principal at Harrison Design
Colored pencils, markers, pens and paper for the design activity of this workshop will be provided. We encourage anyone to bring their own materials if you have special supplies you would like to use in addition to those provided (i.e. Watercolors).
All are welcome to attend! Free for members at any level (Architect, Associate or Allied). Non-Members can attend for $15.
