Construction & Deconstruction: Scaling Reuse Through Collaboration: An AIA Arizona COTE Event

On Tuesday, March 24, all are welcome to join AIA Arizona Committee on the Environment (COTE) for a virtual roundtable discussion that will explore strategies for advancing Construction & Demolition (C&D) reuse and recycling in commercial projects. Through candid insights from public agencies, nonprofits, and collaborative initiatives, participants will explore how policy, market forces, and recovery systems influence what is feasible on today’s projects — and what must evolve for scalable adoption.

Speakers from Stardust, ADEQ, and Resilient Southwest Codes Collaborative will outline current infrastructure, policy considerations, and implementation challenges. In facilitated breakout workshops, attendees will apply the Law of Three Framework to complex C&D challenges, imagining outcomes that move beyond compromise toward regenerative, system-level solutions that create shared value across environmental, economic, and regulatory systems.
