AIA Southern Arizona
Canstruction
Both AIA Phoenix Metro and AIA Southern Arizona chapters plan for annual Canstruction competitions where teams of architects, engineers, construction firms, and students compete to create giant structures made entirely from canned food. The structures are created to win prizes in the categories of Best Original Design, Best Meal, Best Use of Labels, and Structural Ingenuity. After the event, all food is donated to a local food bank. Planning committee members and volunteers are welcome in both chapters.
