AIA Arizona offers ARE 5.0 Exam Prep courses throughout the year for emerging professionals working toward licensure. Courses, which vary from 5 to 8 weekly evening sessions, are facilitated by Arizona-based licensed architecture professionals in a group setting via Zoom.
The next course will focus on the Practice Management exam, with five Tuesday evening sessions starting February 4. Beginning with this next series, the courses will be offered for HSW LUs from AIA: 5 LUs for the 5-session course!
The course facilitators are:
Riley Hausman, Assoc. AIA, Project Specialist at Corgan
Jonathan Peiffer, AIA, Project Architect at Sketch Architecture
Sarah Potzler, AIA, Project Architect at Cunningham Group
The facilitators readily answer questions in all sessions, and the courses feature guest speakers, including architects and those from industry-adjacent fields who add context on technical aspects for a greater understanding of exam content. Anyone can register to take a course, and the course fee is substantially discounted for current AIA Associate members.
ARE 5.0 Exam Reimbursement Program
AIA Arizona has funding available to fully cover ARE exam fees for Associate members who have successfully passed ARE exams! The funding is available for up to 20 members this year. This is a thank-you from AIA Arizona for your membership, as well as our way to congratulate you on successfully passing an exam and to encourage you to continue the path to licensure. The future of our profession is important, and we want to support your efforts!
AIA Arizona will reimburse the $250 exam fee to Associate members who have successfully passed an ARE exam within the previous six months. Limit three exam reimbursements (a potential total of $750) per person in a 12-month period.
Exam Reimbursement Requirements:
(1) You must reside in Arizona, and you must have renewed as an AIA Associate member for 2025 or join AIA as an Associate prior to requesting the reimbursement.
(2) Email images of both your ARE exam receipt and certificate showing that you passed an exam to Membership Manager Sarah Levi. Images must show the dates of payment and of exam passing.
(3) You’ll be asked to complete a form to have your employer verify that it is not also reimbursing the exam fee.
