Meyer Borgman Johnson (MBJ) is a multi-specialty structural engineering firm with 65+ years of experience, operating from seven offices across five states. Since opening our Arizona office in 2005, we’ve proudly supported projects locally and nationally. As we celebrate 20 years in Arizona, we continue to lead with curiosity and deliver with excellence – structuring places that shape lives.

MBJ offers broad expertise across markets including aviation, education, government, healthcare, hospitality, housing, industrial, office, and science & technology. Our services span new construction, additions, renovations, and historic preservation, with specialized capabilities in mass timber, protective design, seismic engineering, steel connection design, and structural peer review.

We work with all structural materials and delivery methods, including design-build, CMAR, IPD, and complex phased projects. Sustainability is central to our practice. In 2020, MBJ became one of the original signatories to SEI’s SE2050 Commitment to achieving net zero embodied carbon. We’ve collaborated on over 40 LEED-certified projects, including LEED Platinum, as well as Passive House and Net Zero buildings.
