Members of AIA and NOMA gathered together on Thursday, February 19, for an ice cream social that was jointly organized by the AIA Phoenix Metro Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Committee and NOMA Arizona. The event was held at skoop in Scottsdale, designed by DeBartolo Architects, which won an Honor Award in Distinguished Architecture in the 2024 AIA Arizona Design Awards. Jack DeBartolo 3, FAIA, described the design of the building as members enjoyed ice cream. AIA Phoenix Metro EDIB Chair Taz Khatri, AIA, NOMA, and NOMA Arizona President Fatima Garcia, AIA, NOMA, both offered remarks about their organizations.
