On Thursday, February 12, a team of members and staff from AIA Arizona visited the offices of the U.S. Representatives and Senators from our state for the AIA’s annual Hill Day. This included the presidents and presidents-elect of AIA Arizona, AIA Phoenix Metro, and AIA Southern Arizona, who took part in the AIA Leadership Summit that included Hill Day.
Overall, more than 500 AIA members met with their members of Congress to advocate for important policies that will shape the future of architecture and the built environment. They advocated for:
- Professional classification and Student Loan Caps
- Historic Preservation
- 179D High-Performance Building Tax Credit
- Housing Legislation
- Design Freedom
