On Wednesday, October 29, AIA Arizona and the AIA Phoenix Metro Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Committee hosted an informative webinar outlining the steps to becoming a licensed architect in Arizona. The chairman and staff from the Arizona Board of Technical Registration (AZBTR), along with select AIA members, shared valuable information and personal insights about the licensure process. The session provided essential guidance for all applicants, including a focused segment for those educated or trained outside of the United States.

Presenters included Mike Kolejka, AIA, a partner at Grace Design Studios who is the chair of the Arizona Board of Technical Registration (AZBTR); Julie Pham of AZBTR staff; Roberto España, Assoc. AIA, an architectural designer with Shepley Bulfinch; Carlos Murrieta, AIA, NOMA, principal with Merge Architectural Group; and Maurice Brown, assistant vice president, advocacy and external engagement with NCARB.
