Design for Permit-Ready Housing Design Libraries
Arizona Senate Bill 1529, signed into law in the 2025 legislative session, requires municipalities to establish a pre-approved housing design program. Under the law, cities must adopt a set of plans for single family homes, duplexes, triplexes, and accessory dwelling units. Each class must include at least three different design options.
Join AIA Arizona and the League of Arizona Cities and Towns for an informational webinar on a new Request for Information (RFI) seeking architect participation in developing permit-ready housing design libraries under Senate Bill 1529. These programs will help Arizona cities and towns accelerate housing construction by offering pre-approved design plans for single-family homes, ADUs, and small multifamily units.
This session will outline the purpose and scope of the RFI, explain how architects can participate, and provide an open Q&A to address member questions about the process, design requirements, and potential opportunities for firms across the state.
Speakers:
Christian Solorio, AIA, co-chair, AIA Arizona Government Affairs Committee
Tom Savage, legislative director, League of Arizona Cities and Towns
