YKK AP takes two strategic approaches to environmental sustainability.  First, YKK AP develops innovative products designed to block heat, provide insulation and improve ventilation in homes and offices around the world.  Our second strategy takes innovation a step farther, extending beyond “what” we manufacture to “how” we manufacture it. Together, these positive steps toward sustainable manufacturing help us balance ecology and economy.

Manufacturing & Compliance: YKK AP commercial products are manufactured in the USA and comply with the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA). We are vertically integrated and ISO 14001 certified, which allows us to maintain control over every step of the manufacturing process.

Sustainability & BetterBillet™: We offer BetterBillet™, a unique billet comprised of recycled aluminum scrap and aluminum sourced from low-carbon suppliers. This allows us to maintain tighter control of alloy chemical composition than industry standards. Our billets contain an average of 40% recycled aluminum, and 80% of our primary aluminum is purchased from low-carbon, North American suppliers.
