On Wednesday, February 26, a team of leaders from AIA Arizona, including the presidents and presidents-elect of AIA Phoenix Metro and AIA Southern Arizona chapters, visited the offices of the U.S. Representatives and Senators from our state for the AIA’s annual Hill Day.

Overall, more than 400 AIA members met with their members of Congress to advocate for important policies that will shape the future of architecture and the built environment. They advocated for:

  • Design freedom for federal architecture
  • Update fee limitations for federal contracts
  • Affordable housing programs
  • Community resiliency
  • Tax incentives for architects (e.g., R&D tax credit)
