IMPACT: The Importance of Water

This video on the importance of water highlights the impact we all have in designing in our Arizona context and desert climate. As designers of the built environment, we have a profound impact on our communities—socially, economically, and environmentally. This video underscores the critical issues focused on water, and explores how our design choices shape the Arizona landscape and desert climate.

OUTREACH: Arizona Kids Build

This video highlights the Arizona Kids Build program. Kids Build started in 2011 within the AIA Phoenix Metro chapter, and has been an important outreach program for our architecture profession. In 13 years, more than 1,100 elementary school students have taken part. Kids Build has also received numerous awards, including a 2017 AIA National Grassroots Component Excellence Award.

LEGACY: Preservation & Adaptive Reuse

Focusing on celebrating Arizona’s architectural legacy, this video allows us to appreciate the creativity, craftsmanship, and vision that have shaped our built environment. It’s a reminder of how the past continues to influence the way we design and experience spaces today. The video also recognizes the value of the Arizona Architectural Archives and highlights lasting impact of our architectural past and the invaluable role it plays in shaping the future.
