<p>PROJECT ARCHITECT<br />
There is an immediate opening in our Phoenix office for a Project Architect to work on challenging projects in a studio environment. Our Project Architect is responsible for design and management of several teams on complex projects at different phases of development. Develops specific task staffing assignments, monitors overall project budget and schedule performance, makes significant project decisions with limited direction from Studio Director or other supervisors.</p>
<p>Requirements<br />
Architectural degree or equivalent; current architecture license, minimum 10 years experience in project management and construction document preparation on educational, institutional, and commercial projects in the United States, including 5 years in healthcare projects. Must have strong verbal and visual communication skills, the ability to critically analyze and resolve technical issues and have a strong command of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM; and competent MS computer word processing skills.</p>

<li>Accurately and thoroughly deciphers telephone calls and messages for staff.</li>
<li>Greets all visitors.  Informs staff that they have guests.</li>
<li>General administrative duties including but not limited to copying, faxing, filing, stocking paper/toner in printers, etc.</li>
<li>Receive overnight deliveries, unpack, and distribute to staff.  Check the printer/fax for distribution.</li>
<li>Maintains comprehensive administration filing system.</li>
<li>Send out overnight and courier requests via appropriate vendor.</li>
<li>Keeps up to date and proficient about telephone usage, especially complex calls such as conference, collect, local and long distance telephone service. Understand and proficiently operates the telephone system functions.</li>
<li>Computer inputting and processing of data.</li>
<li>Receive mail, distribute and/or forward to corporate accounting as appropriate.</li>
<li>All other duties as apparent or assigned.</li>
<li>Office manager skills desired.</li>
<li>Responsible for the following:  ordering of office supplies, ordering of coffee supplies and maintaining equipment, ordering of water/sodas for staff/clients, maintain office cleanliness including conference room, sink and refrigerators, ordering office treats and holiday decorations, and errands such as picking up sandwiches and dropping off shipments.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Responsibilities: (Architectural)</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Prepare and processes project correspondence and documentation.</li>
<li>Prepare presentations and associated marketing materials (brochures.</li>
<li>Process and distributes submittals/shop drawings and maintains submittals/ shop drawing logs.</li>
<li>Process and distributes RFI’s and maintains RFI logs.</li>
<li>Maintains architectural filings as defined.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>High school diploma required, college education preferred.</li>
<li>A minimum of two years prior experience as a receptionist/clerical support within a design/ construction firm environment.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment as a team player.</li>
<li>Ability to keep confidential information private.</li>
<li>Listening, reasoning and organizational skills required.  Detail oriented.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.</li>
<li>Software proficiency required in: Microsoft Office 2007.  Knowledge of Axium Ajera desired.</li>
<li>Readily adaptable to changing conditions or demands.</li>

<li>Familiar with architectural concepts, practices, procedures, final documents, specifications, materials and construction practices</li>

<p><strong>Explanation of Theme:</strong> The theme of “Design and Practice in a Global Age” well suits the breadth of a multi-regional AIA conference that will<br />
include members from six Western Mountain Region states as well as those from four Northwestern states, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam &amp; Micronesia, Hong Kong and Japan.  Conference topics will explore the international trends, influences, and connections that affect the<br />

<p><strong>Call for Presentations:</strong><strong> </strong>AIA Western Mountain Region (WMR) &amp; Northwest Pacific Region (NWP) seeks innovative speakers and facilitators for presentations to be offered during the 2012 Joint Conference in Tucson, AZ, October 10-13. This conference will provide the highest amount of Continuing Education Units for Architect members in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Hong Kong and Japan in just 3 days, and will also provide enriching networking and educational opportunities for associates, interns, students, and allied organizations. Selected speakers will have the opportunity to gain visibility and increase their leadership role in the industry by providing valuable information to upward of four hundred conference attendees.</p>
<p>This year&#8217;s theme – Transformation 2012: Design and Practice in a Global Age &#8211; is a call to AIA Western Mountain Region &amp; Northwest Pacific Region architects to actively expand the role of the architect while transforming the profession as a leader in the design industry.
