| Dear Alexandra,
Today AIA Arizona has launched our new website (http://www.aia-arizona.org), and I am proud to say that it far exceeds my expectations for easy access as well as content. The Membership Communications Committee under Joe Worrall’s leadership has been working closely with our Communications Director, Alex Evjen for most of 2009 to redesign this website. Thanks to Alex’s passion for technology and access to information, we have created a new tool for communications with our members.
I refer to our website as a new tool because it gives YOU, our members, the ability to customize how you receive information. Take a look at the top of the page and you will immediately see links to Twitter, Facebook, RSS Feeds and to our YouTubevideos. Go to the “Events” menu and select “Cont. Education” to see a listing of scheduled opportunities that you may review in agenda format or calendar format according to your preference.
The Committee tracks the number and originating location of “hits” we receive on a monthly basis and have found that our site is visited by people from around the world seeking information about architecture in Arizona. The work being done here by our staff and volunteers is a model throughout the AIA organization so we will continue to showcase these efforts through the website.
This is an ever-evolving site that will grow and adjust to your needs in the future. Above all, you will find that this new site is easier to navigate and is presented in an easy-to-read format, so go take a look and after visiting our new site please share your thoughts on the Blog or Facebook!
Mark Patterson, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP
